UNBEATEN RUN ENDS
MBABANE – The Eswatini Men’s Netball Team’s impressive run came to a halt yesterday, as they suffered a defeat against their neighbours, South Africa (SA).
The reigning champions brought an end to the debutants, Eswatini’s three-match unbeaten streak, triumphing with a score of 59-39 to solidify their position at the top of the standings. Both teams showcased their best performances; however, Eswatini found themselves trailing for the duration of the match, ultimately succumbing to defeat. As both sides entered the match yesterday at the MTC Dome in Swakopmund, Namibia, they were level on six points.
South Africa’s superior goal tally enabled them to retain their top position, leaving Eswatini in second place prior to the encounter. Notably, they were the only unbeaten teams in the seven-team pool of the Africa Netball Men’s competition. Wandile Sithole’s charges will be looking for redemption today against Zambia at 6pm, in their pursuit of reclaiming the top spot.
