LEOPARD COACH TO FACE DC

MBABANE - Royal Leopard’s Head Coach Edwin Matsebula reportedly has a case to answer before the Eswatini Football Association (EFA) Disciplinary Committee (DC).
Sources indicate that Matsebula’s team are expected to receive a subpoena requiring him to appear before the DC. He must address allegations of misconduct relating to match officials.
His club was previously called before the DC on December 17, 2024, to respond to a charge concerning an incident, in which Matsebula allegedly failed to behave appropriately towards a

referee.

As a result, Ingwe was fined a minimum of E15 000. The source revealed that the coach has been specifically requested to explain his actions before the DC. A suspension may be a potential outcome if the committee deems it necessary to impose sanctions. Frank Hurube, the General Manager and Public Relations Officer for the police side, has confirmed that the team are aware of the situation and has received a pending invitation from the DC for their coach to provide assistance regarding the alleged misconduct. Meanwhile, attempts to confirm details and a date for the case with Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) Prosecutor Sibusiso Manda were fruitless yesterday.

It is noteworthy that a similar incident occurred last season, when the PLE suspended two top officials for misconduct. The then Kit Manager of Mbabane Highlanders, Sikhumbuzo ‘Mtheleweni’ Matimela, and his counterpart from Green Mamba, Simiso Masilela, received suspensions lasting nearly three matches without appearing before the DC.
In a similar matter, the English Football Association previously imposed a two-match ban on Nottingham Forest Manager, Steven Reid, for his misconduct towards referee Paul Tierney following a defeat to Liverpool.
