WE WILL TAKE E100K ‘CARROT’ – ERNEST
MBABANE – “Royal Leopard will definitely know their place after the minutes as we are looking at taking the ‘carrot’.”
These were the confident words of Green Mamba Head Coach Ernest Mavuso, ahead of today’s highly anticipated forces derby in the MTN Premier League. The two sides will clash in the ‘carrot’ (first-round winners incentive) decider at King Sobhuza II Memorial Stadium this afternoon, with the match set to kick off at 3pm.
Mavuso, speaking on the eve of the crucial fixture, expressed his team’s determination to secure the E100 000 incentive, despite facing challenges in their preparations. “We may not have had the best training as we would have liked, but we have had all our sessions. We did face a challenge with the torrential rains that swept across the country recently, but we are prepared. Fortunately, we have a full squad, and there are no injuries to report,” Mavuso said.
He acknowledged the strength of their opponents, but made it clear that his team would not be underestimating Royal Leopard. “We know Leopard is a strong team, but our mandate is to compete and that remains our driving force. It is what keeps us pushing to perform better,” he added. On the other hand, Royal Leopard’s Mfanzile ‘Fash’ Dlamini stated that their preparations have been spot on, and they are fully focused on securing the maximum points.
Importance
“We understand the importance of this game and we are not looking for anything less than three points. We are ready for a win,” Dlamini said. The two teams are going into this game having a tie in number of points and are only separated by a goal difference.
