PHILA DOUBLE INSPIRES SWALLOWS TO VICTORY
MANZINI - Masundvwini Royal Swallows cruised to a convincing 3-0 victory over Magwanyana in an MTN National First Division (NFD) match played at Manzini Club, courtesy of a brace from striker Phila Dlamini.
Dlamini opened the scoring in the 16th minute with a clinical finish, showcasing his predatory instincts. He doubled Swallows’ advantage ten minutes later, leaving Magwanyana with a mountain to climb. Swallows, spearheaded by the creative Ncamiso Gina, enjoyed a period of dominance, but failed to capitalise on further chances to extend their lead.
Introduction
Magwanyana, however, began to find their rhythm after the introduction of Banele Simelane, but were unable to breach the Swallows defence before the interval. The second half began brightly for Swallows, with Samkeliso Mndzebele adding a third goal within two minutes of the restart. Magwanyana struggled to create clear-cut opportunities, and the game descended into a more subdued affair as fatigue began to set in.
Despite late pressure from Magwanyana, including a disallowed goal for offside, Swallows comfortably held on to secure all three points. The victory solidifies Swallows’ position as a force to be reckoned with, while Magwanyana will need to improve their attacking efficiency in upcoming matches.
