MBABANE – Mbabane Swallows’ dynamic attacking midfielder Siyabonga ‘Gusheshe’ Zwane has signed a three-year contract with Green Mamba.
The talented player, who moved from Seven Dreams last year alongside Newman Philiso from Ludzeludze Killers, was among the Swallows squad grappling with serious issues regarding their salaries. This situation ultimately prompted him to resign from the Mbabane giants, citing a breach of contract by the club. According to reliable sources, Gusheshe officially joined the Ernest Mavuso team yesterday and was introduced to his new teammates before training commenced. In an interview with this publication, Zwane confirmed his signing with Inyoka Eluhlazane and expressed his excitement about starting anew with the security forces team.

“I am delighted to join Green Mamba, which is undoubtedly one of the strongest, if not the strongest, teams in the league. I am eager to do my utmost to contribute to the team’s success,” he stated. Green Mamba also took to their Facebook page to unveil the player yesterday: “Green Mamba Football Club is thrilled to welcome Siyabonga Zwane, a talented forward, to the green and white family! Siyabonga joins us from Mbabane Swallows FC, and we are excited to see him bring his skills and passion to our team.” In another setback for Swallows, it has been reported that their manager, Clement ‘Magwegwe’ Dlamini, is set to depart the ‘Birds’ nest after requesting to be relieved of his duties.

According to reliable sources, Dlamini, who joined the capital city giants in 2022 after the now-defunct Motshane-based side Vovovo FC relinquished its top division football status to Nsingizini Hotspurs, submitted his resignation letter on Monday morning. “Yes, it’s true Magwegwe has asked to leave the team,” the source confirmed. In an interview, Dlamini acknowledged his resignation from the team and explained that he left due to a disagreement with one of the team’s officials. He stated that, for the benefit of the team, he felt it was best to step down from his position.
