RED RHINOS EYE SIMANGA SHONGWE, 2 OTHERS
MBABANE - Excitement is brewing at Red Rhinos, as three prominent league players are reportedly being considered for the team.
A source within the club revealed that these players were spotted during both morning and afternoon training sessions at KaLanga, three days ago. Notably, one of these players is the former Mbabane Swallows and current Sisonkhe star Simanga Shongwe. The other two players hail from the Manzini giants, Manzini Wanderers: Phatizwe ‘Kati’ Mabuza and Jabulani Mavimbela. Additionally, the club is keen on acquiring Sibusiso Mkhonta from Black Swallows, a team competing in the National First Division (NFD).
Head Coach Percy Shongwe confirmed that he currently has several new players training with the squad. “I have seven Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) players with us, and I am interested in some of them,” Shongwe stated. He emphasised the need to strengthen the team to secure promotion by the end of the season.
While Shongwe refrained from naming the players due to ongoing club discussions, he is optimistic about finalising contracts soon. The objective for the second half of the season is to target 21 points from the first seven games, starting with their fixture against Magwanyana. Red Rhinos host Nsingizini Hotspurs in the Ingwenyama Cup last 32 today at KaLanga Technical Centre.
