NETBALL LEAGUE TAKES BREAK, RESUMES NEXT WEEK
MBABANE – The highly anticipated SBS 2025/26 Netball League takes a brief hiatus this weekend, as teams prepare to recharge and refocus for the return of the competition next week.
This announcement was confirmed by Eswatini National Netball Association (ENNA) Secretary General, Bongiwe Gamedze. “Yes, it is true that we are not holding matches this weekend.
‘‘Teams will take a break, and the league will resume next week. It is a great opportunity for players and coaches alike to take a step back and assess their progress so far,” Gamedze said. As teams gear up for the second half of the season, Gamedze encouraged all squads to use this time productively:
“We urge teams to focus on training during this break. It is a perfect chance to work on improving their weaknesses, refining their skills and ironing out any mistakes. When the league resumes, we want every team to return stronger and ready to compete at their best,” she added.
When the action picks up on February 8, 2025, at the Olympafrica Netball Courts at Lobamba, the atmosphere is expected to be electric. The day will kick off with a fierce encounter between Mbabane Raiders and Olympafrica, before the men’s teams take to the court in a much-anticipated derby clash.
Defending champions Green Lightning will face off against Young Buffaloes, while the reigning women’s champions, Royal Flames, will meet Manzini Ladies in another thrilling fixture. With so much at stake, fans can expect a showcase of intense competition and remarkable athleticism.
