MBABANE – Honoured!

The air at Sigwaca House crackled with excitement as the Hhohho Regional Football Association (HRFA) gathered to honour their newest champions. This was not just any team; these were the under-13 stars from Mbabane, fresh off their victory in the Build it national championships.

The date, January 30, 2025, will be etched in the memories of these young athletes for years to come. Proud parents, beaming coaches, and HRFA officials mingled, all sharing in the joy of the occasion.  The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of the certificates of appreciation.  Each young player, their faces a mixture of shy pride and uncontainable glee, stepped forward to receive their award, a tangible symbol of their hard work and dedication.

Dr Comfort Shongwe, the HRFA chairman, took to the podium to address the crowd.  His voice, filled with genuine warmth and admiration, resonated across the conference room. “These young men have represented the Hhohho Region with distinction.  They have shown skill, determination and sportsmanship, and they have made us all incredibly proud.”  His words were met with thunderous applause.

Dr Shongwe didn’t stop there.  He went on to acknowledge the crucial role of the technical team, the unsung heroes who had tirelessly honed the skills of these young prodigies. “Their strategic guidance, their unwavering belief in these players, has been instrumental to this victory,” he emphasised.  Another round of applause echoed through the room, this time directed towards the coaches and trainers who had dedicated countless hours to nurturing the talent of these rising stars.

Finally, Shongwe turned his attention to the parents, highlighting that their support has been unwavering.
“Your commitment to your children, driving them to training, cheering them on from the sidelines and supporting them in every way, has been truly remarkable.  This victory is as much yours as it is theirs,” he added.

It is worth mentioning that the 2024/25 Build it National Championships presentation will be held on Wednesday at Sigwaca House, starting at 2pm. This was announced by Eswatini Football Association (EFA) Marketing and Communications Officer Muzi ‘Rhoo’ Radebe.
