‘BIRDS’ WONDER KID NJONGO TARGETS 6 GOALSB

 MANZINI – Mbabane Swallows’ Njongo Mazibuko has stated his intent to score at least six goals for his side. The goal poacher made this remark following their 3-0 victory in their MTN Premier League clash on Saturday at the Mavuso Sports Centre, where he netted a brace after coming off the bench. The youngster expressed his joy at delivering such a performance, which contributed to the team’s first three points of 2025.

He further conveyed his gratitude to his teammates and the technical team for believing in him, while hoping to maintain this level of performance.“I’m happy to have scored my first Premier League brace. It is thanks to my teammates and how we worked as a team,” remarked Njongo. He highlighted that having joined Swallows in the second half of the season, he aims to capitalise on this performance and increase his target and tally for the next season. Mazibuko also mentioned his aspirations to play for the senior national team, Sihlangu, especially since he comes from the Under-20 national team, where he has also excelled.

“It’s time to level up. I’m turning 19 this year, and it’s time to play at a higher level in my career,” said the former Red Rhinos striker. Njongo expressed confidence in his abilities, believing he can contribute positively.Meanwhile, Swallows, following a challenging few league encounters in the second round, have found their rhythm, displaying a strong performance against Madlenya. His introduction in the second half instilled a sense of urgency within the ‘Birds’, ultimately resulting in two second-half goals from the in-form Mazibuko.
