‘TRIGGER-HAPPY’ LEOPARD, MAMBA DOMINATE
MBABANE – After delivering a crushing 5-0 defeat to Moneni Pirates at the Mavuso Sports Centre, Royal Leopard have triumphantly reclaimed the top spot. In a weekend of high-stakes matches, the MTN Premier League table underwent a tremorous shift, as the unbeaten Leopard unleashed their full fury on the erstwhile dominant Pirates, cruising to a spectacular 5-0 victory.
Veteran striker Felix ‘Fela’ Badenhorst led the onslaught with a stunning brace, silencing the recently revitalised Pirates, whose six-match winning streak was brought to a screeching halt.
Amid the thunderous roar of the crowds, the dethroned ‘Sea Robbers’ of Moneni were swept aside as Leopard reclaimed their rightful place atop the league table. Green Mamba seized the opportunity, sinking their fangs deep into a vulnerable Sidwashini United, whose hearts were still heavy with the untimely passing of their star player, Sibonginkosi ‘Gudas’ Dlamini, with a 5-1 win.
Manzini Sea Birds crashed Young Buffaloes to a stunning 3-0 defeat, an outcome no one had predicted. Adding to the upheaval, Mbabane Swallows’ fortunes saw a sharp uptick as they secured their first win of the year against Madlenya FC, putting three past the hapless team who currently occupy the table’s bottom spot. Meanwhile, Ezulwini United and Nsingizini delivered clinical performances of their own, demolishing Illovo and Sisonkhe with respective 3-0 and 1-0 wins, further adding to the league’s chaos.
