MBABANE – The Eswatini Football Association (EFA) has announced yet another Basic Coaching Course, providing aspiring coaches with a vital opportunity to kick-start their careers. The deadline for registration is looming, set for February 28, 2025. The primary aim of this course is to increase the number of qualified coaches across the nation, thereby enhancing the competitive nature of Eswatini’s football landscape.

Regarding the course fees, EFA Marketing and Communications Officer Muzi ‘Rhoo’ Radebe stated that costs will be determined after registration concludes and will be guided by the number of participants. “For now, it is about raising awareness for those interested in taking part in the course,” he added. Further details will be shared once logistics are finalised, with the course set to commence in March. Radebe assured that the course will encompass both theory and practical sessions for a comprehensive assessment of the aspiring coaches.

The requirement for participation is O’Level (Form Five). Interested individuals can contact the Technical Director’s Office at mboybizzah@gmail.com. By introducing Basic Coaching Courses, the EFA is taking significant strides towards improving Eswatini’s football landscape. Investing in coaches’ education is crucial for developing local talent and enhancing the sport’s overall quality.

Standardisation of coaching practices across clubs and regions will foster a cohesive football culture. Moreover, trained coaches will be better equipped to identify and nurture young talent, ensuring promising players receive the guidance they need to excel. As the number of trained coaches increases, the overall level of play in local leagues is expected to rise, boosting Eswatini football’s competitiveness on both regional and international stages.

Coaching courses can also cultivate community involvement and pride, encouraging greater participation in football as players, coaches or supporters. A well-trained coaching workforce will ensure sustainable football development, creating a lasting legacy for future generations. Through these Basic Coaching Courses, the EFA is laying the groundwork for a stronger football future in Eswatini, fostering both skill development and a deeper love for the game among its citizens.
