YELLOW CARDS COST BIRDS STAR ‘KARAS’
MBABANE – Capital city giants Mbabane Swallows have suffered a significant setback ahead of their MTN Premier League clash this weekend.
Star player Bongi ‘Karas’ Magagula is set to miss out due to suspension. Magagula, who has been pivotal to the Birds’ success this season, has been nabbed by the MTN Premier League’s Yellow Card Rule. According to Article 6.1(b) of the league’s regulations, any player who accumulates six yellow cards in succession is automatically suspended for the next two matches. As a result, Magagula will be sidelined for Swallows’ upcoming encounters, starting with their high-stakes match against Ezulwini United at Mavuso Sports Centre tomorrow.

Magagula’s absence will be a significant blow for the Birds, especially following his impressive performance in the Ingwenyama Cup, where he scored a brace against Lozitha Spurs in the quarter-finals. Meanwhile, Magagula is not the only player facing suspension this weekend.
Two other prominent Premier League players have also been affected by the yellow card rule. Phumlani Shongwe of Moneni Pirates will be forced to watch from the sidelines when Pirates face off against Mbabane Highlanders, while Bhekani Mthembu of Ezulwini United will miss his team’s clash with Mbabane Swallows.
