16-CLUB LEAGUE TOPS PLE EXTRAORDINARY MEET AGENDA
MBABANE – PLE Board Governors (BoGs) are expected to discuss, among other things, the proposed 16-team league at PLE Extraordinary General Assembly next week.
According to circular 13, dated February 18, 2025, released by the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) secretariat, member clu-bs have been invited to the meeting. It will be held on Wed- nesday, February 26, 2025 at Sigwaca House. The assembly will begin at 2:30pm, and there are four items on the agenda.As per the notice from Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Pat ‘Kungumusa’ Vilakati, key topics will be discussed under the final agenda item, entitled ‘Proposals and Amendments’.
This is where the 16-team league proposal will be discussed, along with the potential conversion of the National First Division (NFD) into a development league. It is worth noting that the 16-team league is expected to be implemented next season, as voted for by the BoGs last June.
Salaries
The development league also seeks to touch on the company structure for clubs and the PLE business company. Furthermore, the regulation of players’ salaries is also expected on the agenda. However, in addition to remarks from the Chairman, Polycarp Dlamini, there will be progress reports on the 2024 8Bet Cup, MTN League and the Ingwenyama Cup.
