BUFFALOES' LADIES DOMINATE VIXENS
LOBAMBA – Buffaloes ladies netball team delivered an emphatic performance, crushing Vixens Ladies 47-30 in a thrilling encounter that saw them moving to third on the summit of the standings.
The battle between the two sides was staged at the OlympAfrica Centre, Lobamba.
Buffaloes came out of the blocks with unmatched intensity and their superior teamwork and defensive prowess were on full display throughout the match. By the third quarter, Buffaloes had already opened up a commanding 12-point lead and they showed no signs of slowing down.
In the final quarter, Buffaloes continued to dominate, pushing their advantage to a comfortable 16 points. Their fast-paced ball movement and quick transitions to the attacking third made it nearly impossible for the Vixens to mount any significant challenge.
Buffaloes’ height and athleticism were key factors in both their offensive and defensive strategies, enabling them to consistently win crucial rebounds and intercept key passes from the opposition.
The victory is crucial for Buffaloes, as they climb further up the league table, securing their position in third place. With only a handful of games remaining, they are now hot on the heels of the second-placed Green Lightning Ladies netball team, with hopes set firmly on overtaking their rivals in the race for a coveted top spot.
As the season intensifies, Buffaloes Captain Xondile Mabuza said their confidence and impressive form suggest they are ready to challenge for the title, and their dominant win over Vixens has only added fuel to their fire.
“We really appreciate the results; they are proof that we are still on the right track. We still have a lot to improve on, though, as the position we are in now is not a good one. We have to pursue glory and collect as many points as we can,” Mabuza said.
