‘BULL’ STAR EXCELS AT MVASI LEAGUE AWARDS
MBABANE - Mbabane Highlanders wing attacker, Wandile Ntshakala, shone brightly on Thursday during the UNESWA Mvasi League Soccer Awards.
The award ceremony was held at the University of Eswatini (UNESWA), Kwaluseni Campus, in honour of the 20 clubs that participated in the league, which concluded in January. Mbenambena FC were crowned champions. The event was attended by UNESWA Vice-Chancellor Justice Thwala, representatives from the Eswatini Football Association (EFA) and Nsingizini Hotspurs, among other guests. Ntshakala was recognised as the top goalscorer and also won the prestigious Ballon d’Or award. In another highlight, Green Mamba Ladies Team star Noxolo Lukhele scooped the Sportsmanship Award.
Speaking at the event, Thwala emphasised the importance of the institution supporting students in non-academic activities to ensure they excel in all aspects during their enrolment. Meanwhile, EFA Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Frederick Mngometulu mentioned that they are looking to establish development programmes in collaboration with the country’s tertiary institutions. Mngometulu said this has been the only grey area, as existing programmes have already been established in schools.
