CAMEROON UNLEASH EPL STARS
MBABANE – Cameroon Head Coach Marc Brys has announced a formidable squad to face the national team, Sihlangu, on Wednesday.
The two nations will clash in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, scheduled for Mbombela Stadium in South Africa. Brys’s selection underscores Cameroon’s determination to maintain their lead at the summit of Group D, featuring three English Premier League (EPL) stars. The coach has included Manchester United goalkeeper André Onana, Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba, and Brentford attacker Bryan Mbeumo. The Belgian tactician has also called up Porto’s Dany Namaso and Nathan Ngoumou, who plays for Borussia Mönchengladbach. Napoli’s Franck Zambo Anguissa adds experience to the midfield.
Return
According to the player list, defender Joyskim Dawa and striker Ignatius Ganago make their return to the squad. Dawa’s last call-up was in September 2021, while Ganago last played for the Indomitable Lions in 2023. Meanwhile, Eswatini’s Sihlangu Head Coach Dzravko Logarusic will be relieved to note that 2017 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations-winning goalkeeper Fabrice Ondoa has been omitted from the Cameroon squad.
Logarusic has included four international players to face Cameroon: Richards Bay’s Justice ‘Figa’ Figuareido (South Africa), Jwaneng Galaxy’s Mxolisi ‘Kudus’ Mkhonto (Botswana), ZESCO United’s Lindo Mkhontfo (Zambia), and Tabora United’s Banele ‘Pupu’ Sikhondze (Tanzania).
