BODYBUILDER BARBOSA QUALIFIES FOR UK SHOW
MBABANE – Eswatini’s most decorated bodybuilder, Arnaldo Barbosa, successfully pursued his intent to qualify for the Las Vegas shows.
Barbosa left the country two days ago and landed in Cape Town for the David K Classics, which served as a qualifier for a series of Las Vegas shows, now set to take place in the United Kingdom (UK).
The Muscle Mania and Fitness America 2025 shows will have a combined team selected from the David K Classic, in which Barbosa participated and made.

During the competition, it was announced that the show would no longer be hosted in the United States of America (USA), Las Vegas, but instead in the UK.
The accomplished bodybuilder expressed his readiness for the David K Classics, particularly as he had spent a considerable time away from competing while following a new programme.
This programme lasted six months before Barbosa decided to test his mettle at the David K Classics, which he described as an excellent event.
In his comeback competition, the David K Classic qualifiers, Barbosa performed exceptionally well, achieving third place in his category.
“I am happy with how I competed; this was my comeback because I haven’t been competing for a while now. Thank you to Lewis Martin and 8Bet for the immense support you have provided me with,” Barbosa expressed.
He highlighted that his travelling expense was taken care of by Martin, which he cited as a huge help in getting him to Cape Town with ease and comfort.
He further mentioned that despite the politics surrounding his third-place finish—where other competitors suggested he deserved to be the overall winner—he remains confident in his journey as a bodybuilder.
“I feel absolutely amazing to have qualified; I wanted to assess how well I also perform under pressure, and it seems I am doing well. I also had to do some marketing for the eighth edition of the Barbosa Classic,” Barbosa added.
He noted that upon arriving at the venue for the David K Classic, he was called to the stage for demonstrations for the other athletes, which he said instilled fear in most of them, highlighting Barbosa’s aptitude in the sport. The focus now shifts for the decorated bodybuilder to the Barbosa Classic, which he stated will be much bigger and better.
“I am happy that I actually attended the competition because a number of athletes in Cape Town have shown their interest in coming; they said they will definitely participate,” Barbosa concluded.
He concluded by reminding those interested in coming to the event that it has been slotted for July 26, where Kiky Santos will be the competition’s guest poser.
