‘BUCS’ MOURN DEMISE OF ‘MAGAWUGAWU’S MOTHER
MBABANE – Moneni Pirates have expressed their sorrow at the passing of their veteran Captain, Menzi ‘Magawugawu’ Simelane’s mother.
The club, through a press statement released yesterday, conveyed its condolences to ‘Magawugawu’, who also serves as the physical trainer. It said they have been notified that Simelane’s mother passed away this past weekend. “Losing a parent, especially a mother, is one of the most painful experiences a person can endure. There is never a right time to lose a loved one, and the Moneni Pirates family deeply understands this. Ms Simelane was a pillar of strength for Menzi, leaving behind an irreplaceable presence in his life,” the ‘Sea Robbers’ said in a statement released yesterday.
Funeral
It further revealed that the family has informed them that the funeral will be held at Khalangilile, past Luyengo, on Sunday, March 23, 2025, following a short service at home in the morning. “We encourage all supporters’ branches to continue showing their support to the Simelane family during this difficult time, both physically and in spirit,” he added. Pirates then quoted Psalm 147:3, which reads: “He heals the broken-hearted and binds up their wounds.”
The statement was released on behalf of the Buccaneers’ board of directors, management committee (MC), technical team, senior team and development squad players, supporters’ branch committees, supporters, partners and everyone associated with the club.
