‘BIRDS’ WHEELS BACK

MBABANE – The capital city giants have received a major boost with their sprinter finally out of the mechanic’s workshop.

Swallows’ Mercedes-Benz sprinter developed mechanical issues in January 2025, necessitating a trip to Matsapha for repairs. Since then, the ‘Birds’ have been relying on privately-owned transport, which at times left them frustrated. Earlier this month, they publicly announced that some individuals had come to their rescue, offering their vehicles for the Ingwenyama Cup on March 10, held at Mavuso Sports Centre.

However, the latest developments confirmed by Public Relations Officer (PRO) Knowledge ‘Bhambo’ Ngwenya indicate that the sprinter is back and hit the road running yesterday.

“Yes, we can confirm that our vehicle is back, and we used it for training today (yesterday). It’s a sigh of relief for us in terms of easing the transportation headache, as it has been costly to fund the movement of the team. Now it will be just a matter of refuelling it,” Ngwenya said.
However, Swallows will play friendly matches today at Tambankulu Stadium against Ezulwini United and Illovo.
