2025 COSAFA CUP SET FOR JUNE
MBABANE – The 2025 Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA) flagship tournament is set to take place in June.
This will mark the 24th edition of the COSAFA senior men’s tournament, with the previous edition, held in Gqeberha, South Africa, being won by Angola. According to the 2025 calendar of activities released by Media Manager Lynda Greeff, the tournament will occur from June 4 to 18, although the host venue is yet to be announced. Notably, the last two editions were hosted in Durban and Gqeberha, respectively.
The regional football governing body will kick off the year by hosting the COSAFA Beach Soccer tournament next month. This will be followed by the 2025 COSAFA Under-17 Girls’ tournament, scheduled for May 8 to 17, 2025. Following the girls’ tournament, the senior men’s competition will take place.

Additionally, the next COSAFA events will include the Under-20 Men’s and Women’s tournaments, which are part of the Region V Games set for July 5 to 13, 2025.
In September, the region will host the COSAFA Under-17 Boys’ tournament, which will serve as the qualifiers for the Under-17 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). The COSAFA Women’s Champions League qualifiers will conclude the regional football governing body’s schedule in October 2025, commencing from October 9 to 18.
Meanwhile, the association plans to conduct 11 workshops, covering topics such as Club Development, Technical Study Group, Video Assistant Referee (VAR) Elite B, Marketing and the Women’s Leadership Programme, among others. The Eswatini Football Association (EFA) Marketing and Communications Officer, Muzi ‘Rhoo’ Radebe, has indicated that they are yet to receive any correspondence from COSAFA regarding the dates for this year’s tournaments.
