'BIRDS' SUSPEND COMPANY'S DUO
MBABANE – City giants Mbabane Swallows Football Club have suspended Bongani Dlamini and Mfundo Zwane from all club activities with immediate effect.
The club announced the latest developments in a media statement yesterday.
The decision by the Board of Trustees comes in response to recent events, including a letter sent by Dlamini to the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE).
In the letter, Dlamini, acting as Chairman of Mbabane Swallows (PTY) Limited, asserted the resumption of control, management and operations of Mbabane Swallows Football Club.
The Board of Trustees firmly rejected this claim, stating that the matter concerning the Pty Ltd company was addressed in a previous statement on January 10, 2025, and that the club’s position on ownership and management remains unchanged.
emphasised
They emphasised that Mbabane Swallows Football Club continue to operate under its legally-recognised structures registered with the PLE.
“All official matters concerning Mbabane Swallows Football Club will only be addressed by those within the club’s legal structures,” the statement read, warning that: “Any external interference in the club’s affairs will not be entertained.”
The Board reiterated that any ownership claims should be pursued through legal channels and affirmed their readiness to defend their position vigorously if necessary.
Despite the off-field distractions, the Trustees assured supporters, sponsors and stakeholders that their primary focus remains on the current league season and strengthening the club.
“We will not be distracted by individuals whose motives serve to create instability and division within the club,” the statement added.
The club concluded by reaffirming its commitment to achieving success in the ongoing league season and working towards the growth and stability of Umkhonto KaShaka.

Meanwhile, Dlamini said he was not aware of the statement suspending him and Zwane from the activities of the red and white city giants.
Notably, Dlamini had earlier stressed on the need to make the transition as smooth as possible.
The takeover is anticipated at the end of the season.
