INGWENYAMA CUP CULTURE FINALS LINE-UP REVEALED
MBABANE – The schedule of performances for the Ingwenyama Cup Culture Competition has been announced.
This eagerly-awaited annual event is set to take place on Sunday, at Somhlolo National Stadium. The line-up for the final stage of the Ingwenyama cultural competition was officially revealed following a draw conducted yesterday at Nkhanini, Lobamba. The proceedings, characterised by tradition and excitement, were officiated by Sandile Nxumalo, popularly known as Msandi Kababa, a member of the Ingwenyama Cup Culture Committee, highlighting the importance and prestige of this national event. The draw marked a crucial moment leading up to the finals, determining the order in which the top cultural groups from the nation’s four regions will showcase their talent and heritage. Captains from Hhohho, Manzini, Lubombo and Shiselweni were present to witness the outcome, their expressions reflecting the gravity of the moment and the competitive spirit that defines the Ingwenyama competition.

In addition to unveiling the line-up, the event served as a formal opportunity to equip the regional teams for the finals. Each captain received a comprehensive kit, prominently featuring the traditional emahiya, which participants will wear during their performances.

The presentation of the emahiya, which represents national identity and cultural pride, further amplified the significance of the occasion.
Nxumalo, addressing attendees, highlighted the importance of the Ingwenyama Cup culture competition in safeguarding and promoting Eswatini’s rich cultural heritage. He praised the dedication and hard work demonstrated by the participating groups throughout the qualifying stages.
