'LANDERS, SWALLOWS FOR 'Y'ELLO' SUNDAY
MBABANE –With just two matches separating them from reigniting their fierce rivalry, Mbabane Highlanders and Mbabane Swallows are set to temporarily unite this Sunday.
They share a common objective of drawing a significant crowd to the grand spectacle at the Mavuso Sports Centre. The MTN Premier League week 19 fixtures, billed as the ‘Y’ello Super Sunday’, will see the city giants share the stage, each battling to secure crucial points against challenging opponents.
According to a schedule released by Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) Chief Executive Officer Petros Vilakati, ‘Bull’ will kick off the day’s proceedings.
In their pursuit of a coveted top-eight spot, Meck Mwase’s team face a stern test against Young Buffaloes. Dominic Kunene’s Buffaloes, determined to maintain their title aspirations, will undoubtedly be looking to add insult to injury after Highlanders suffered a shock defeat at the hands of Sisonkhe in their previous match, at the very same venue. ‘Bull’ will be aiming to pick themselves up, but Buffaloes are poised to leave them reeling as they seek retribution.
Following this encounter, Swallows will host Moneni in what promises to be a heated battle for fifth place. ‘Birds’ have a score to settle with ‘Sea Robbers’, who have denied them victory in their recent encounters this season. Meanwhile, Saturday’s fixtures also offer some thrilling preliminary action, with matches from the MTN National First Division (NFD) setting the stage for the top-tier clashes.
