Bring Taribo, we'll beat you - Landers Ace'

MBABANE – No doubt, Mbabane Swallows striker Mfanafuthi ‘Taribo’ Bhembe is a thorn in the flesh for many a defender.

However, Mbabane Highlanders Board of Directors Chairman Charles ‘Ace’ Jele is confident his boys will win the derby on Sunday.

Called yesterday, the former midfield maestro said he was very optimistic that his charges would win the quarterfinal battle regardless of who was going to feature for Swallows.

He was referring to the return of ‘Taribo’ ahead of the game. Ironically, the striker last played for his team against Highlanders in the Swazi Telecom Charity Cup, where he missed the decisive penalty during the shootouts.

"When you do a player to player analysis I can tell you we’re stronger than Swallows, and we’ll definitely win this one. When you camper the two teams, it is easy to tell that we are head and shoulders above Swallows," he said. He acknowledged the fact that ‘Taribo’ was a good player, who had been in the derby before, so there was nothing new with his return.

Quizzed if they have put any incentives for the players to win this game, he said there was nothing but if they win the tournament, there would be something of that nature. Jele further invited all their supporters and all soccer lovers to come and watch the ‘Bull’ bring the ‘Birds’ down.

He assured that his team would be ready on the day.

Swallows official Sibusiso Manana said they were ready for the challenge. "It’s their opinion that they would win because we’re also preparing for a win. This is war and we’re getting ready to fight to the end. We know what kind of game this is, so we’re taking everything serious because war is war," he said.
