I expected to get call up - Yuki'
MBABANE – Mpuma-langa Black Aces midfielder, Dennis ‘Yuki’ Masina, has expressed disappointment at his omission from the national team, Sihlangu.
Sihlangu lost the first leg match away to Sudan 0 – 3 in an Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier 2012 on Sunday.
Interviewed yesterday, the former Manzini Wanderers attacking midfielder said he has no hard feelings for the technical bench lead by care-taker coach, Boy ‘Bizzah’ Mkhonta, as each coach has his own choice of players. Masina argued that the fact that he was now playing regularly at Aces he expected a call up unlike in the past when he was called up even though he was not playing regularly for Pirates.
"I was hoping to be part of the team to help my country. But, as the coaches have decided, I have accepted their decision. I will continue working hard and avail myself for any future national team call up as I believe that I still have something to contribute in Sihlangu," Masina said.
Another player who expressed disappointment about his omission in the team is the University of Pretoria winger, Mzwan-dile ‘Navara’ Ndzimandze. Only two international players, Jomo Cosmos’ striker Phinda Dlamini and Santos’ winger Tony ‘TT’ Tsabedze were called up for the game.
Other interna-tionals who were not considered are Cosmos’ duo of Felix Badenhorst, Mfanafuthi ‘Taribo’ Bhembe, Blackburn Rovers’ Wonder ‘Samba Jive’ Nhleko and Civil Matsebula.
Masina when asked about his future at club level said at the end of the season, he will be rejoining Orlando Pirates.
"I have one year left in my contract with an option of two years renewal. When I was loaned to Aces I signed a registration card for next season for Pirates," he said.
