Green Mamba off-load Ncube, Njabuliso
MBABANE – Green Mamba have shown four players the exit door including former Mbabane Swallows winger Stanford Ncube and former Sihlangu first choice goalkeeper Njabuliso Simelane.
The others are Sifiso ‘Mkhalelele’ Vilakati and Thembinkosi ‘Mbhedze’ Dlamini. The players were released by the Correctional Services side yesterday at their training session at Matsapha Correctional Services sports Ground. The reigning Fixedfone Cup champions PRO, Vusi Kunene, confirmed this yesterday. He said the players couldn’t make it to the 25 players that they had to register. He said this didn’t mean that they were not good players but the technical bench had to make a decision.
"They were not released because they did not impress but it was the technical bench decision. They are good players and we are happy that we had them in the team as they contributed a lot in the team’s achievement," he said.
Sifiso Vilakati and Njabuliso Simelane were part of the four players that were suspended towards the end of last season due to alleged indiscipline. The others were Sabelo Shilubane and Siyabonga ‘Gogo’ Mdluli who are part of the squad. Kunene said teams who are interested in the players are welcome but they will only be on loan.
He said they may need the players in the near future. A source close to the matter said Green Mamba and Stanford Ncube made a mutual agreement as his contract expires at the end of November. Green Mamba is preparing to take part in the CAF Confederation Cup after they were crowned the 2012 SwaziBank Cup champions.
The team is led by Zimbabwean coach Lloyd Mutasa.
