Former Wanderers star Gobi' is late
MBABANE – The cruel hands of death have once again struck in the football fraternity claiming the life of the former Manzini Wanderers skilful midfielder Simphiwe ‘Gobi’ Sibiya.
The player died in a fatal car accident involving a truck travelling down Malagwane Hill on Thursday night.

Sibiya played for the hub giants in the late ’90s alongside the likes of Maxwell ‘King Dunga’ Zikalala, Dennis ‘Yuki’ Masina, John ‘Junior Shisa’ Mdluli and Berger ‘Hotline’ Nxumalo to mention a few of his teammates at that era.
Wanderers Manager Nxumalo confirmed to have received the bad news yesterday.
"I am still trying to come to terms to believe that ‘Gobi’ is no more. He was one of the most talented players that I had ever played with.
"He was competing with Zwelakhe ‘Mrico’ Nxumalo with football skills during our day," he said.

Nxumalo said he will always remember Sibiya for the game when he came in as a substitute to inspire the ‘Weslians’ to 4–1 victory over XI Men In Flight during the Trade Fair Cup.
The manager sent condolences to the Sibiya family on behalf of the ‘Weslians’.
The Sibiya family has produced other football stars in the likes of former Wanderers defender Jomo Sibiya and former Mbabane Swallows midfielder, Mzwandile ‘Baba’ Sibiya.
