MBABANE – Manzini Wanderers have suffered a major blow as the hub giants’ captain Lwazi ‘Shana’ Maziya has been nabbed by the notorious yellow card rule.

The Sihlangu defender has been suspended for the MTN Premier League game against Sea Birds slated for Friday night at Mavuso Sports Centre after accumulating three yellow cards. Maziya is the only premier league player suspended for this weekend game while three players, RSSC’s Muhle Shiba, Rovers’ Manqoba Ndwandwe and Tambankulu Callies’ Zakhele Masilela are the first division suspended players. Premier League of Swaziland (PLS) CEO Zwelonke ‘Sport’ Dlamini confirmed that the four players are indeed suspended.

Wanderers PRO Lington Gule said they have been made aware by the PLS Office that ‘Shana is suspended for the Friday game.

"It is a blow to us to be without our captain and a key member of the team but we do have other capable players to replace him during the game.

We are also hoping that defender Menzi Gamedze would have fully recovered for the game," he said.

Gule said they will be also welcoming back midfielder Sandile ‘Theo’ Motsa who missed last weekend’s game against Red Lions due to the yellow card suspension.
