Swazi refs for Lesotho vs Bafana friendly

MBABANE – Once again the country’s three top referees have been handed the task to handle the international friendly match between South Africa’s Bafana Bafana against Lesotho.

The match is slated for this weekend in Lesotho and top referee Simanga Nhleko will be accompanied by Bhekizizwe Mkhabela and Petros Mbingo who will be the first and second assistant in the match. South Africa will be using the match for their crunch 2014 World Cup qualifier against Central African Republic (CAR) next month, the match will be played in Cameroon following a civil war in the huge country.

A request according to acting FA CEO Boy ‘Bizzah’ Mkhonta has been recovered from the Lesotho Football Federations (LFF).
“The request is in the office even though I might not remember the names now as I am out of office, but I know that Bhekizizwe Mkhabela is one of the referees,” he said.

Mkhabela confirmed the invitation to be part of the game when called yesterday.

“It is true that we are going to Lesotho for the match against Bafana Bafana. Our flight has been scheduled for 11am on Saturday,” he said.
This will be the third high profile match for Nhleko and his team after being appointed to officiate twice in the CAF Champions League games between Kenya’s Tusker F.C against Egyptian giants Al Haly, they went on to handle the third round match between Orlando Pirates against TP Mazembe at Orlando Stadium last month.

They also handled the pre-World Cup friendly match between Bafana Bafana against Zimbabwe in February 2010 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
