MBABANE – Botswana coach Stan Tshosane has slammed top referee Simanga Nhleko for his decisions in the 2014 CHAN qualifier 2-0 loss to Zambia.

Nhleko officiated in the African Nations Championship Qualifier played in Lusaka, Zambia on Saturday.  Tshosane told a renowned soccer website MTNFootball.com that the experienced middleman denied his team a penalty after Zambia captain Bronson Chama handled the ball in the 71st minute and three minutes later sent off defender Obuile Nncenga for a foul on Kondwani Mtonga.

“Zambia striker Evans Kangwa’s 79th minute goal was off-side. We had a clear penalty it was handball inside the box. The ball was in front of the defender and he stopped it with his hand. It’s terrible,” Tshosane is quoted saying.

“It was clear on the side of the referee and the linesman. The second goal was clear offside.”
Nhleko sounded surprised on the reports but preferred not to shed light on the issue when sought for comment yesterday.
“Besides, I haven’t seen the reports,” he said briefly.

Nhleko had left the country with FIFA accredited trio of Petros Mbingo, Thulani Sibandze and Mbongiseni Fakudze to officiate in the game. The entire delegation returned yesterday.
