MBABANE – Capital city giants Mbabane Highlanders can heave a sigh of relief as their trusted striker Msimisi Ncanywa is set to start training next week.

The player, who has been missing since they started preseason training, yesterday said his whereabouts were always known to the team.
“I was at home in Nhlangano but now I’m ready to rejoin the team at training as I’ve got the rest I had asked for after my academic studies at SCOT,” he said.

However, he said when the club travels to Nelspruit this Saturday to play Sivutsa FC and Mbombela United in preseason friendlies, he would not make the trip as he had not trained. Meanwhile, the team’s PRO David Litchfield confirmed the player was expected back next week.

“Ncanywa is not yet at training as he’s still at home in Nhlangano but I’ve been told by the manager that he would be joining us next week,” he said. He said Ncanywa was an asset hence having him back at training would also lift the spirit of his teammates. However, Litchfield acknowledged that some of the problems like the contractual issues were due to the uncertainty about where the team will be playing – First Division or Premier League.

The striker also noted that this was causing them problems because as players they want to be certain when they sign contracts where they would be playing. He said if they are relegated it must be clear and life would be easier for them.
