MBABANE – Royal Leopard are crossing their fingers for lanky defender Siboniso ‘Rocco’ Malambe to recover on time for Sunday’s Swazi Telecom Charity Cup game against Green Mamba.

The player suffered an ankle injury during the replay game against Manzini Wanderers last Thursday at Somhlolo National Stadium. Leopard PRO Frank Hurube said the player is currently doing light training and their medical staff was monitoring the injury.
The police side play Green Mamba in the first semi-final at 9am while the second game will be between Mbabane Swallows and army side Young Buffaloes at 11:30am.

“We are hopeful that the player would have fully recovered on Sunday. The whole squad is ready and they are eager to win the first game and reach the final. We are not taking the games lightly but we will be all out to win,” he said.
Meanwhile, Hurube invited their fans to come in numbers.

He said they want to prove a point to the Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs Hlobisile Ndlovu who jokingly said if Leopard fail to win the trophy, they will lose the name ‘Royal’.

Ndlovu said Leopard had to lead by example and make sure that the name Royal stands.
“If Royal Leopard fail to win the tournament they will remain with one name ‘Leopard’,” she said.
Hurube said they will be all out to prove to the minister that they deserve the name Royal Leopard.

“Our fans must come to give us support. We believe they are going to be happy at the end of the day. We told Manzini Wanderers that they will have to follow an order and now we are also warning Green mamba and the other team that will reach the final between Buffaloes and Swallows to be ready to take orders as they are,” he said.
