MBABANE – Police side Royal Leopard are also reportedly interested in the services of Zimbabwean coach Elvis ‘Chuchu’ Chiweshe.

The ex-Manzini Wanderers mentor, who was sacked at the end of last season, has already been approached by Leopard over taking over the vacant coaching seat. Leopard currently have stand-in coach in former player Sifiso ‘Nuro’ Ntibane after parting ways with Zambian coach Texan Phiri.

Sources close to the police side said they were looking for a coach and Chiweshe was one of the few they had in mind.
“He was called about the job and asked to submit his CV to the team which I believe by now should have arrived or will be here soon,” said one of the sources.

The latest means Leopard join Mbabane Highlanders in the race with the latter having already tabled an offer to his Zimbabwe agent Gibson Mahatsi. Chiweshe who is currently back home in Zimbabwe was called about the latest.
“It is true I got a call from Leopard about a coaching job and I was asked to send them my CV which I did,” he said.

He explained though when he checked with the Leopard official he was dealing with, the mail had not come through he would be resending it.
“The only official offer I have is from Highlanders while Leopard have asked for my CV without making an offer,” he explained.

He also could not comment about where he would end up with the two teams after him but hinted a return to Swaziland would be great as he enjoyed the football and life here but wants the team that will get him to be professional especially when it comes paying his dues.
His agent Mahatsi said Leopard have not submitted anything formal to his office but directly communicated with Chiweshe.

On the other hand, Leopard PRO Frank Hurube when asked about this, he opted to be evasive.
“We have coaches who we believe in as they know the culture of the team and Nuro even has licence B so he is qualified to lead the club,” he said.
He said nothing had reached his office about Chiweshe so far but, they had confidence in the current technical bench that includes Mfanuzile ‘Fash’ Dlamini and Lucky Masuku.
