MBABANE – Manzini Wanderers are set to snatch discarded Manzini Sundowns striker Dumisani Kunene and defender Elias Makako.

The former was released by new coach Milton Dlamini from the ‘Kappa Boys’ on Tuesday after being dimmed surplus to requirement.

Meanwhile, Makako who seemed to have revived his career with Moneni Pirates in the past two seasons, parted ways with the ‘Buccaneers’ after the expiry of his contract.
Kunene started training with the Weslians on Tuesday evening at Trade Fair Grounds. Sundowns PRO Muzi Matsenjwa confirmed yesterday that the player has been given his clearance.
He thanked his contribution to the team and wished him luck in his football career. Kunene joined Sundowns in January from South Africa. He only played for four months for the team.

“The player came at a time when we needed him most. The team decided not to renew his contract and we are happy that he helped us. He is a good player and we hope he will get another team as soon as possible, “he said.
Sundowns have off-loaded four players in Elias Tsabalaka, Leonard Bongso, Celucolo Mmema and Sizwe Khumalo.
Manzini Wanderers PRO Lington Gule confirmed that the player was training with the maroon and white outfit together with fromer Moneni Pirates defender Elias Makako.

Gule said the players started training with the team on Tuesday. He said they will wait for the technical bench headed by Kenny Ndlazi to confirm if he was interested in the players. “The players have shown interest in joining the team. If the technical bench is interested in their services, we will then start to talk to their teams,” he said.
The players could prove to be a good acquisition for the Weslians who looked thin during the recent Swazi Telecom Charity Cup semi-final play-off against Royal Leopard. They are also on the verge of recalling transferred midfielder Xolani ‘Papi’ Sikhondze.
