MBABANE – Mbabane Highlanders are struggling to get a transit visa for 21-year-old Sierra Leone striker Kamara Henry Hassan to get here.

The striker, who is highly rated back in Sierra Leone, is expected to join the black and white side for trials according to the invite sent to him. However, it is expected that he signs for the club if his record is anything to go by.

“He should have arrived by now but he is stuck in Senegal where he joined two other players we’ve also invited for trials based on their profiles. We’re still trying to get the transit visas past South Africa which we hope to get soon,” confirmed Highlanders PRO David Litchfield.

Assessments

He said there were two other Sene-galese players who were also coming to the club for assessment all of these players have impressive records. However, he would not give the names of the other two players.

He said they were doing all that was possible with the assistance of the National Football Association of Swaziland (NFAS) to get the players here as the league season is about to kick-off. The MTN League and the National First Division are scheduled to start next weekend.

However, Highlanders remain in the dark about which league they will play in at least until the NFAS and PLS have resolved the 16-team FA General Assembly’s decision that gave them a lifeline to retain elite league status.
The matter is set to be resolved during the PLS Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Wednesday.
