LOBAMBA – Young Buffaloes coach Thabo ‘Koki’ Vilakati believed that Darren Christie should have won a penalty after he was obstructed by Sikelela ‘Djemba’ Dlamini.

The incident occurred five minutes from time with the score line reading 0-0. And the capital city giants went on to lose 2-4 on penalties.  “On other days a penalty is given on such incidents, but I can’t blame anyone here, as I also believe we should have also got one in another  incident,” he said.

The incident left the Swallows faithful fuming as it denied them a passage to the final, and it got worse when they were eventually booted out during the lottery shoot-outs.  Mbabane Swallows coach Nyanga Hlophe hailed his team for putting up a good fight, and also mentioned that he was saddened by the denied penalty appeal.

“I think it was a clear penalty, but we have to forget about the match and prepare for the future. We wanted this cup badly, but we can’t do anything about it now except to try to emulate last season when we went on to win the rest of the trophies after losing the Charity Cup,” he said.
