MBABANE – Manzini  Wanderers look to have won Zimbabwe-born midfielder Stanford Ncube from Mbabane Swallows.

If Wanderers Director Mduduzi ‘Tsotsi’ Mabila’s status on a social networking site yesterday is anything to go by, then a deal has been agreed between his side and Swallows.

Mabila had posted that they had since captured Elias Makako, Ricky Sibiya, Dumsani Kunene and Stanford Ncube.
Ncube was among the listed players to have since joined the Weslians’ camp. Ncube has been a subject of negotiations between the two clubs over a transfer to Wanderers.

Sources said when he signed for Swallows ahead of the recently finished Swazi Telecom Charity Cup, he was offered a E25 000 signing-on fee but only got E10 000 upfront.
Because he was also interested in playing for Wanderers, it was said the latter would have to pay Swallows the E10 000 and get the player.
It is said that talks have been ongoing between the two clubs’ directors and suggestions on Facebook were to the effect that the transfer has been approved by Swallows’ boss Victor ‘Maradona’ Gamedze.

“I haven’t been told anything yet but it would be great news if that was the case. All I know right now is that I’m still a Swallows player but I’m aware there are talks between the two teams which I was told were promising,” said Ncube when asked about the latest.
He said at the moment he had not got any feedback from Mabila except that he did tell him the talks were going on very well and promising such that he could start training with Wanderers on Tuesday.

Wanderers’ Public Relatiopns Officer Lington Gule said he was also not aware that the matter was concluded but confirmed that Mabila was handling the issue.
Meanwhile, Swallows acting CEO Sibusiso Manana said he was also not aware if a deal had been concluded.
“I know Wanderers are very interested in Ncube and the matter has been handled at another level but I haven’t yet been updated on the latest,” he said
He said if anything, Ncube was not yet cleared but it was a possibility depending on the talks.
On another note, Wanderers coach Kenny Ndlazi said he recommended Ncube and would be happy to see him join the team as he was trying to get a team that would compete instead of grooming players.
