MBABANE – Manzini Wanderers’ central midfielder, Xolani ‘Papi’ Sikhondze, is in trouble for absenting himself without official leave at the ambitious side.

Word coming from the hub giants is that the slim-built midfielder has not trained with the team for the whole week and has automatically been ruled out of the derby against Manzini Sundowns this afternoon. Team PRO, Mduduzi ‘Mr. G’ Ginindza, confirmed the latest developments, saying the player would face disciplinary action.

“We’re blank about the player’s whereabouts as he has been conspicuously missing at training. He is to answer to the management if he eventually shows up,” he said. Ginindza said he was not aware of anything that could have led to the unexpected move.
Coach Kenny Ndlazi’s phone repeatedly rang unanswered when sought for comment on the issue at the time of compiling this report late yesterday.

Meanwhile, Ginindza assured that only Sikhondze was ruled out of the clash, saying the rest of the players were looking forward to the clash.
“It’s a derby, so not only maximum points are up for grabs but there are bragging rights at stake. Supporters should brace themselves for a thrilling encounter,” he said. The game will be played at Mavuso Sports Centre. Kickoff is set for 4pm. There was no winner in the first round clash which ended 2-all.

Sikhondze’s phone was apparently switched off for the better part of yesterday. The last attempt was made at 6:58pm.
