MBABANE – Instead of E700 000, RSSC United players will be disappointed to learn that they will now share only E7 000.

This reflects a difference of E63 000, which the elite league rookies’ players have missed out on following their failure o advance any further than the second round of the SwaziBank Cup Kusenjalo...Washa-Thu tournament.

The team had promised the players before the start of the tournament that they would share whatever prize money they would win. The first prize money of the tournament is E700 000. The RSSC players could only go as far as the second round of the tournament where they were stopped dead on their tracks by Moneni Pirates, who beat  them 2-0 at Mavuso Sports Centre.
The team PRO, Zamekile Mamba when asked yesterday if the team would still give the players the E7 000 to share, said, they would keep their word.

Lying

“The team was not lying when we promised the players that they would share whatever amount they won amongst themselves. It is a pity that we could only go as far as the second round of the tournament though. They will still get to share the E7 000 for their efforts. “We will not go back on our word because that was the agreement reached by the two parties,” said Mamba. She was quick to state though that the team did not blame the players for the early exit from the tournament. Mamba said they were proud of the players’ fighting spirit.

“As a team we were really impressed with the manner in which they played. We might have lost the game but we did not play badly. Instead, we noted that we missed a number of chances that could have seen the results going either way. Our players are still adapting to the standard of the Premier League, otherwise they gave out a satisfactory performance,” she said.
