VOLLEYBALL – The Swaziland National Volleyball Association (SNVA) has had enough with the late coming trend exhibited by local volleyball teams.

The association is planning on stringent regulation measures that will guide the game locally so that delays due to teams reporting late for games becomes a thing of the past.
This transpired on Saturday during the SNVA Pre-League tournament semi-finals and finals for men which were held at Bosco Skills Centre.
RSSC caused a delay of over one and half hours for the start of the semi-finals as they were not prepared for the game, yet RSSC and Correctional Sunrise had arrived late for the games.

They had been scheduled to play first at 9am but they were not there at the time while the competition’s organising committee was already at the venue and ready to start.
It was the same old story on Sunday where many players showed up very late such that the Beach Volleyball tournament was forced to start after over four hours later than the slatedtime of commencement.

SNVA Assistant General Secretary Mduduzi Mhlanga said they had noted that late-coming was a prevalent issue in local volleyball hence they would deal with it accordingly.
“Time-keeping is a problem with all local volleyball teams. We have noted this matter and it is one of the ills of the game locally which we aim to deal with because we want to iron out all issues affecting the running of the sport this year. For now we are going to call all teams for a meeting so that we talk to them about the poor time-keeping matter, then we will be looking at coming up with laws to punish teams for such,” he stated.
