MBABANE – Ahead of their biggest game this season thus far, First Division log leaders Mbabane Highlanders players are set to share E5000 if they beat Moneni Pirates in the SwaziBank Cup quarters tomorrow.
This is how big this match is for Highlanders hence, the team’s Managing Director Bheki ‘Rubber’ Simelane has put forth the incentive.

“We’ve played big matches in the First Division but none as big as this one. The players have missed elite football but know this is their chance to prove they are returning with something next season in the top league,” Simelane commented.
He said such an incentive was not necessary per se as the players were always to play in this tournament in particular the very day they were drawn against Pirates. He said they understood the task ahead of them and were raring to go all the way.

If the players win this match, each of those who will play a part is set to walk home with at least E250 to E300 while the rest of the players will share the balance. This means about 15 players will share up to about E4000.
Meanwhile, the club’s Acting PRO and Marketing Manager Thulani Khumalo also confirmed the latest.
“The chairman and hi

s management are doing all they can to keep the players motivated both for the league and SwaziBank Cup.  I know the players will get incentives to beat Pirates which are different from the league’s match-winning bonuses,” he said.
He said the spirit in the camp was so high the players were geared up for the match. He further confirmed the players have been getting incentives for every SwaziBank Cup win but no figures were given.
He then encouraged all their supporters to fill the stadium in their traditional black and white colours while those who did not have the merchandise will be able to buy it at the stadium.
