30 PUPILS TO REPRESENT MBABANE IN REGIONALS

MBABANE – Over 30 pupils were selected to represent the Mbabane branch in the Hhohho Schools branches competitions to be held at Dvokolwako School Sports Ground.


The Mbabane branch staged the qualifiers yesterday at Prince of Wales Sports Ground where the Under-17 squad was selected and announced. Pupils came from schools including Mbabane Central, St Mark’s Primary, John Wesley, LaMgabhi Primary, Fonteyn Primary, Mpolonjeni Primary, Mbabane Lutheran, Lobamba National High, St Mary’s and Londunduma High School.


Athletics Association of Swaziland (AAS) President Themba Makhanya, who also serves at the Mbabane branch, said they only picked those who got the first and second positions in 100m, 200m and 400m while for the long distances only those who got positions one to three were selected.
