SIX ANGLERS FOR WORLD CHAMPS

MBABANE – The SAA has announced a strong looking squad to represent the country in the World Championships later this year.


SSA is the Swaziland Angling Association. Mexico hosts the 10th Black Bass World Championships at Lake Vicente Guerrero between November 7 and 10. Seasoned anglers led by captain, Louis van Zuydam, Dave Wright, Derek Hopf, Manny Rego, Mickey Figueiredo and Ward Rijkenberg will leave for the global showpiece.

The team was announced by Interim Manager, Derek Hopf during a launch of a sponsorship for the Zone VI team by Swazi Plaza Properties at Ocean Basket on Thursday.
Hopf expressed hope that the players would leave a mark after winning a silver medal in the 2012 edition in Venezuela.


“Teams shall consist of six members who shall compete from three competition boats per side with a maximum of two anglers per boat,” he said.
The country hosts the Zone VI Black Bass Championship between September 8 and 12 this year at Maguga Dam in Northern Hhohho. Swazi Plaza has pumped in money as well presented a full kit consisting of golf shirts to the national side valued at over E40 000.
