LOBAMBA – Manzini Sundowns Under-20s stormed into the finals of the inaugural SwaziBank Cup Under-20 tournament after narrowly beating a hesitant Moneni Pirates 1-0. Sundowns found the winner just before the hour mark through impressive marksman Lindokuhle Matse.

He connected a brilliantly laid square ball from wing wizard Senzo Shongwe, who gave the Pirates’ defence all sort of problems whenever he was in possession of the ball. The Sundowns’ number 10, cut in from the right flank, weaving his magic, as he glided past bemused defenders before picking Matse with a pinpoint pass. The striker easily slotted past Lwazi Sibanyoni between the Pirates’ goal posts.
Both teams struggled to create decent scoring opportunities, as play was largely centred around the middle of the field. The opening half had ended goalless. Worth noting is that Sundowns failed to play their normal passing game on the day.
