This is the pick of the week as this is one clash which has been played a lot on paper and in the football stadiums – the SwaziBank Cup in particular, where the bitter rivalry was clear to all and sundry. This afternoon all the exchange of words in the media and on the grandstands comes to action and there is no running from it now. The first round clash ended in a barren draw but until after 90 or so minutes nobody knows today’s result.

On paper, the match favours Swallows, not because they are in any good form but the quality of stars at their helm while on the other hand Wanderers have the potential to rise against their sworn rivals – they often have which is set to make it a thrilling encounter. Needless to say Swallows, as defending champions, are desperate for the maximum points as any slip off will be a blow, especially if top-placed Royal Leopard win against Manzini Sundowns at Mhlume today.

SEA BIRDS OUT FOR SURVIVAL OVER BUFFS

For the host team, this is a battle for survival while for the Young Buffaloes it is a case of staying within close range of the leading pack of Royal Leopard and Mbabane Swallows who they trail by five and four points respectively. A win would push Buffaloes to 31 points, probably within two points of leaders if they can lose their match.

Sea Birds are still not safe from the axe despite being a place above the bottom two Umbelebele Cosmos and Midas Mbabane City – the gap separating Sea Birds from these is only three and eight points respectively hence a win is crucial.
