MBABANE – Mbabane Highlanders assistant Head of Security Sikelela Mhlanga is not happy with the operations of the NFAS Disciplinary Committee.

NFAS is the National Football Association of Swaziland.  Mhlanga likened the DC to a kangaroo court during the team’s supporters meeting at La Casserole in Mbabane, saying it was almost impossible not to be found guilty.
In a kangaroo court, the outcome is pre-determined by the reputation of the defendant and the trial is not fair.

“The referee’s report at the DC is final, no matter what you say,” Mhlanga said. “Defence by the accused is a waste of time as one is bound to be found guilty.”
Supporters had voiced out their concerns on the continuous charges directed to the side and wondered it was possible to win cases. Highlanders were slapped with nine charges   for misconduct by the Premier League of Swaziland (PLS) since the beginning of the year.

NFAS CEO Frederick Mngomezulu expressed his shock on the comments as he felt everyone had a right to challenge every decision. “The operations are normal as far as I’m concerned as people who feel they are not satisfied with any verdict also have a right to appeal,” he said.
The supporters deliberated at length on misconduct and they wondered if they were a target from some sectors. It was agreed that the supporters should refrain from illicit practices to protect the team’s brand.
