CHAMPION FLAG ‘FLIES HIGH’
MBABANE – As per his words when The George Hotel Pool League started early this year that he would win it, highly rated star Flag Nxumalo is the undisputed champion after finishing on a 12-point difference over his runner-up Eddie Mkhonta.
The league closed on Sunday at The George Hotel’s Egg Yolk with Nxumalo only playing for pride in his last three games against Sandile Dlamini, Andile Malambe and Siyabonga Mndzebele. He managed to win 6-5 against Sandile and went on to lose 2-6 to Andile and 5-6 to Mndzebele.
“There is no doubt Flag has been outstanding throughout the tournament and deserved to win it,” said the tournament’s coordinator and competitor Vusi Masilela.
He said they would soon be announcing the date of the prize presentation in which the sponsor will also pick one charity organisation it can, and together with the players donate to as a Christmas gesture. Meanwhile, Nxumalo will pocket E1 600 accompanied by a gold medal and trophy.
