MANZINI – If you’ve been dreaming of exploring Zambia, mark April 1, 2026, on your calendar — that’s when Eswatini Air officially takes off for Lusaka!
The national airline has announced that it will begin operating twice-weekly flights to Lusaka as part of its ongoing regional expansion. The exciting news was shared in Matsapha by Eswatini Air CEO, Captain Qiniso Dhlamini and RENAC General Manager Ndumiso Shongwe, marking another major milestone for the fast-growing carrier.
“We are delighted to expand our network to Lusaka as part of our commitment to improving regional connectivity,” the airline said. “This route is an important step towards our growth strategy, and we look forward to serving both business and leisure travellers.”
The Lusaka route, operated alongside the Harare service, will connect Eswatini directly with Zambia, providing seamless travel for business executives, traders and tourists. It also forms part of the airline’s mission to make King Mswati III International Airport a regional hub connecting Southern Africa to the rest of the world.
Tickets for the new service will soon be available on www.eswatini.co.sz, at the Manzini ticket office, and through travel agents.
To boost its presence in Zambia, Eswatini Air has appointed AirlinePros as its General Sales Agent (GSA) to manage commercial operations and strengthen the airline’s market visibility.
The airline currently flies to Johannesburg, Durban, Cape Town and Harare, and says its Embraer regional jets provide passengers with a comfortable and reliable flying experience.
Low Season & IOSA Audit
Through data analysis, Eswatini Air identified January, February, June and July as its low load season and will combine the Durban and Cape Town routes instead of suspending services.
In another major update, the airline has secured a slot for the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) scheduled for April 13–17, 2026 — a crucial step toward achieving international safety certification.
Once certified, Eswatini Air will be eligible for codeshare and interline agreements with other airlines, making travel connections smoother for passengers.
