MBABANE – MulaSport National First Division outfit Nkwene Sundowns earned E25 000 for showing prowess last season.

This transpired as Shiselweni Regional Football Association (SRFA), in partnership with Eclipse Investment, hosted the official season presentation ceremony for the Eclipse Shiselweni Super League. The event was staged at King Sobhuza II Memorial Stadium two days ago.

The event was attended by Minister for Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs Bongani Nzima, Director of Sports Lucky Sihlongonyane, Eswatini Football Association (EFA) President Peter ‘Samora’ Simelane and his Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Frederick Mngomezulu, SRFA Chairman Nkosinathi ‘Zoro’ Kunene and his Executive Committee, Eclipse Investments representative Muzi Dlamini alongside club officials.

Eclipse had signed a three year marriage with the SRFA, pumping in E200 000 each season, which has ended. Regardless, they are yet to decide whether this partnership is renewed or not. SRFA Chief Operations Officer (COO) Khosi Mabuza affirmed these latest developments.

“We are still to engage with Eclipse with regard to the continuation of their sponsorship deal. They have promised we will hold discussions over the matter,” she said.

Meanwhile, Nzima congratulated Nkwene on their promotion to the NFD.

“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the champions, Nkwene, whose outstanding performance has earned them promotion to the National First Division where they are now campaigning,” his written speech read.

He praised their determination and urged other teams to emulate their hard work and dedication on the field.

“Your efforts and contributions have enriched the quality and competitiveness of the league and you remain an integral part of the football ecosystem in the region,” he added.

He extended appreciation to Eclipse Investments for their support.

”Let me once again thank Eclipse Investment, the football authorities, clubs, officials and all stakeholders who continue to work tirelessly to grow football in the Shiselweni region,” his speech added.
