MBABANE – They are not backing down!
The Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) is set to engage with resigned Brand and Marketing Manager Lindokuhle Mthupha in a bid to persuade her to reconsider her decision to step down.
The organisation is reportedly eager to retain Mthupha’s services and will hold talks to address the reasons behind her resignation. It is understood that the PLE hierarchy views her role as pivotal to the league’s commercial growth and remains hopeful that a resolution can be reached to keep her in the post.
The local football fraternity was shocked to learn that the manager had tendered her resignation just 18 months after taking office. Mthupha replaced former Brand and Marketing Manager Lindiwe ‘Malindi’ Dlamini, who also stepped down from the position.
PLE Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Pat ‘Kungumusa’ Vilakati acknowledged that the organisation had received Mthupha’s resignation letter but confirmed they will engage her shortly regarding her decision.
“It is true that we have received our brand manager’s resignation,” said the former PLE Chief Operations Officer (COO).
Vilakati explained that while the resigned manager has requested to use her leave days, she remains involved in the organisation’s day-to-day operations.
“We will definitely engage her on her decision; perhaps she might change her mind,” a hopeful Vilakati added. He also noted that once they have met with Mthupha, the PLE will issue an official statement regarding her position within the organisation’s structure.
